Maa Nil-Mangkorn (Black sapphire dragon-horse) is an imaginary horse in one of the masterpieces of Thai literature Pra Apai Manee, written by Sunthorn Phu in the reign of King Rama II III. According to the story, Nil-Mangkorn is a pet-vehicle of Sud-sakorn. He finds Nil-Mangkorn by chance while he roams the sea. It is a fierce animal. Nil-mangkorn is a cross-breed and is thus a very special animal with its diamond fangs, sapphire scales and a birthmark on its tongue.
